I had a wonderful conversation with Jose and Homer — two incredibly talented brothers, an actor and a singer, respectively — about my creative journey and the work that continues to shape it.

We explored my book, Out of the Weeds, and I shared some of the ideas I’m currently developing for my next collection. I also read a few poems and spoke about my work as a poet, activist, and Talent Manager — and how those roles intersect in powerful and unexpected ways.

It was an inspiring exchange about artistry, voice, and the courage it takes to create honestly.
